Additional Information

The Poet in Your Life initiative exemplifies how in the noisy climate of our everyday life, it is often hard to hear above the din: to cut through the spin that permeates our daily intersection with language and find the moments that resonate.

This year, CAP and SCA UCLA will be looking to uncover the hidden nooks and crannies where language is masterful, expression is paramount and words echo long after impact.

As part of this initiative students will use a blackboard to express themselves through the art of poetry and for other students to observe the poems contributed by various students on the blackboard.

The board will be accessible to all students and will help as an additional creative outlet for students to discover how to express themselves through the use of language, whether it be written or pictorial.

The board will be active January 10th-17th and February 7th-14th.

On January 10th from 3pm-5pm there will be an open mic, inside Jamba Juice featuring student poets. The blackboard will be unveiled on this day and will be up for a week.

On February 7th 3pm-5pm there will be a final live poetry reading inside the Jamba Juice lounge.
