Additional Information
In a dystopian society in the not-so-near future, citizens of a forgotten town must pay to pee. They are at the mercy of Urine Good Company, which is managed by the corrupt Caldwell B. Cladwell.
But when Cladwell’s daughter, Hope, comes home from college and falls in love with janitor Bobby Strong, things begin to change. Inspired by his newfound love for Hope and his anger at his father’s unfair arrest, Bobby inspires a revolution in the poor of the community, challenging the very social and political structure of their world. The revolution propels them into the very heart of Urinetown itself.
Humor, music, and satire color this Tony Award winning show, which challenges its audiences to question their own decisions and political ideals.
