Additional Information

Get ready to be hypnotized by the fast-tempoed Music of Bali Ensemble. I Nyoman Wenten leads the ensemble in songs native to the region, including Balinese gamelan music and dance.

The rich textures of the music then set the stage for the Music of Persia Ensemble, directed by Amir Pourjavady and Mehrdad Arabifard. The Persian Music Ensemble performs the classical music of Iran, focusing mainly on the repertoire of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In addition to vocal compositions, the concert will feature instrumental performances on instruments such as the setar, kamancheh, tombak, and daf.

*The program by the Persian Music Ensemble is made possible by the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Fund for Iranian Music established by Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute.
