Additional Information

Kids can be docents, too! Tell your story about a work of art through writing and role-playing activities.

This program is inspired by Andrea Fraser’s Museum Highlights: A Gallery Talk on view in Take It or Leave It, and is part of the Hammer Museum’s new Close Encounters series, in which artists encourage families to look closely at art, experiment, and create together.

Developed with the whole family in mind, these lively and illuminating encounters with art are for adults and kids ages 5 and up. Families are invited to look closely at works of art in the galleries and then create art inspired by what they see.

All Hammer public programs are free.

Parking is available under the museum for a flat rate of $3 on weekends.
