Content Warning: This photo series discusses sexual violence, specifically childhood sexual abuse. If you feel emotionally overwhelmed, you can seek support at the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica [(424) 259-6700], or at CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) in John Wooden Center West [(310) 825 - 0768].

Kids Should be Kids is a call for awareness of the unfortunate reality of childhood sexual abuse (CSA); a call for support of child and adult victims or survivors of CSA; and a call to remove the stigma and shame around discussions of CSA in an effort to stand in solidarity with all victims or survivors.

According to the Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN), approximately 40% of sexual violence victims or survivors are under the age of 18, and yet the national attention has still mainly focused on those who experience sexual violence while in college. Too often, CSA victims or survivors will not feel comfortable sharing their experiences until much later in life.

It is time to expand the sexual violence prevention movement beyond college campuses - victims or survivors of all ages need to be supported.
