Additional Information
This workshop will combine instruction in mindfulness meditation with discussion of recent studies of the anatomy of long-term meditators.
Dr. Eileen Luders will address the phenomenon of brain plasticity and demonstrate how studying the brain anatomy of active meditation practitioners is contributing to this field of research. In addition, Dr. Luders will present the outcomes of her ongoing meditation project which, at this point, comprises more than five separate studies -- all of them revealing exciting insights into the unique brain anatomy of long-term meditation practitioners.
Dr. Belzer will offer instruction in the basic methods of mindfulness meditation as well as methods to cultivate positive emotions and integrate more mindfulness into ordinary activities.
There will be time for Q&A with both presenters.
