Additional Information
The UCLA Department of Astronomy presents Planetarium Shows and Telescope Viewings on Wednesday nights.
Shows are given by UCLA professors, post-doctoral researchers, and current graduate students. Content varies with the presenters, but commonly includes discussion about the current night sky, constellations, astronomical phenomena, and more. These shows include a 30-45 minute sky show, followed by a 15-20 minute presentation on a Special Topic. Special Topics change weekly, so check the Planetarium website for a description of the upcoming shows. Following the planetarium show on clear nights, visitors are invited to look through one of the department telescopes at a variety of celestial objects, including planets, nebulae, and/or star clusters (depending on what objects are currently in the sky).
