Additional Information

Please join us for a panel discussion and reception to reflect and build on Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy of acting on "the fierce urgency of now."

This will be a forum for people to learn about Dr. King's message of “triple evils of racism, militarism, and economic exploitation” towards the end of his life, and point to ways that students and workers at UCLA can get involved in struggles on campus, in the community, and in the world.

Professors Mishuana Goeman, Sondra Hale, Robin Kelley, and Victor Narro will be highlighting different elements of King's message, including how it extends to Native uprising and allied work, feminism and imperialism, the beloved community vs neoliberalism, and labor and immigrant rights.

Come to learn about King's work, share your work, and network with others who are fighting oppression in our various communities.
