Travis L. Dixon, Associate Professor, Department of Communication Studies, UCLA.

Prof. Dixon will provide an overview of the nature of media representations of race, particularly African Americans.

He will discuss the continuing investigations of the effects of these images on audiences, particularly the role of new technology in the distribution of stereotypical imagery.

Finally, he will talk about how theories explain the impact of these representations.
