Additional Information

The Sikh Awareness Day is a chance for our organization to educate students about the Sikh faith. There are many UCLA students who follow the Sikh religion but most of the general public has never heard of this faith.

During this one-day event we will serve langar (free communal meal) that is usually served after our religious services.

We will have several displays and fliers which will highlight the discrimination Sikh communities as well as other communities in the U.S. have experienced after 9/11. We will also have several musical performances.

Our goal is to promote awareness and education about the Sikh religion, encouraging students to ask questions and engage in the event.
