The UCLA Philharmonia, under the direction of Neal Stulberg, makes its Disney Hall debut, performing a program of world music in celebration of the 50th anniversary of ethnomusicology at UCLA.
The concert features the music of UC Regents' Lecturer and Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, UCLA faculty members James Newton and A.J. Racy, and Chinese composer Ge Gan-Ru.
Performing with the UCLA Philharmonia will be Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano, directed by UCLA faculty member Jesús Guzmán; a UCLA student jazz trio; and soloists A.J. Racy and Danilo Lozano, a UCLA alumnus.
