Additional Information

Every year, VNLC hosts a festival for Tết Nguyên Đán, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, which has become an annual tradition at UCLA. This year’s celebration will mark our 25th anniversary of celebrating Tết Nguyên Đán at UCLA. While Tết shares similarities with other Asian Lunar New Year holidays, such as Seollal (Korean New Year) and Chinese New Year, it boasts many rich and distinct traditions that enhance its position as arguably the most significant Vietnamese holiday. We seek to recreate the lively and inviting Tết atmosphere by providing a variety of traditional games, cuisines, and performances that highlight Vietnamese culture such as Lion Dance, music, an áo dài Fashion Show, and Traditional Dance. In addition to enhancing attendees’ enjoyment, these activities, authentic foods, and performances enhance our participants’ enjoyment and ultimately create an memorable experience of Vietnamese culture and a traditions.
