On Sunday, March 11, the 1995 documentary Taking Back the Schools and the 2005 HBO film Walkout! will be screened. Producers Susan Racho and Moctesuma Esparza, respectively, will introduce their films.

A Q&A will follow the screenings.

This two-day event commemorating the 1968 Walkouts in East Los Angeles is organized by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC), and co-sponsored by the Fowler Museum at UCLA, UCLA Institute of American Cultures (IAC), the UCLA Division of Social Sciences, the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies (GSEIS), and the UCLA César E. Chávez Department of Chicana/o Studies.
