Additional Information

Rescheduled from 12/7/2017.

UCLA Philharmonia performs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E Flat, Op. 55 (“Eroica”), under the baton of D.M.A. conducting candidate Maxim Kuzin in his final doctoral recital.

Prior to the performance, Kuzin will lecture about his research on period performance practice and Beethoven’s tempi.

The concert begins with a solo performance by the winner of the 2017 Atwater Kent String Concerto Competition, second-year violin major Tiffany Wee, who will be playing the Mozart Violin Concerto No. 4 in D, K. 218.

This recital was made possible by the David and Irmgard Dobrow Fund. Classical music was a passion of the Dobrows, who established a generous endowment at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music to make programs like this possible. The school is proud to celebrate this program as part of the 2017-18 Dobrow Series.
