Additional Information

This symposium explores and celebrates the intellectual achievements of Remo Bodei, one of Italy's major philosophical figures who has had a close relationship with UCLA for over 20 years, including a period of several years as a Distinguished Professor in Residence.

Professor Bodei's extraordinary range as a philosopher is evident in his books on the passions, patterns of human destinies, the life of objects, and other topics that address the vicissitudes of human experience.” He has a unique ability to map out a philosophical territory drawing on philosophical and literary traditions from antiquity until the present.
