Lecture by Shana Redmond, Associate Professor of Musicology in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, as part of the Nazir Ali Jairazbhoy Colloquium Series in Ethnomusicology.

Based on the experiences of the author, this work-in-progress takes the event of being on the phone while the other party is questioned by police as an opportunity to theorize the contemporary political relation between violence and the senses. A unique alchemy and mediation of sounds evidence teletechnologies' role in the manufacture of intimacy and vulnerability.
