Add to Your Own Calendar

Happenings currently uses iCalendar format, which works with several personal programs you may use like Outlook or iCal.

Two Kinds of iCal Feeds

Happenings offers two kinds of feeds: one kind is for all individual Top Picks, the other kind is for all groups of Top Picks (All, Sports, Arts, and Lectures).

For individual Top Pick iCal feeds, click the "toggle" graphic below the pick you want and click the "Calendar" icon or copy it's URL. Learn more about the toggle tools.

For group Top Pick iCal feeds, click the "iCal" icon on the 30 Days Out pages or copy it's URL.

Adding to Google Calendar

  1. On one of the 30 Days Out pages, copy the iCal address available under formats (i.e. http://happenings.ucla.edu/feed/all.ics).

  2. Open calendar.google.com and login.

  3. Click the "+" next to Other Calendars on the bottom left, or "Manage Calendars" below that.

  4. Select the "Public Calendar Address" tab.

  5. Paste the ICS address, check the box for "allow others to find this calendar" and click OK.

  6. Optional: Rename the new calendar to "Happenings," "30 Days Out" or "Top Picks," rather than the default address (although, it's a readable address!).

iCalendar is a newer standard. Happenings no longer uses the older vCalendar format.
