More about this event:
3pennyopera is performed by Opera UCLA at the Los Angeles Theater Center with Peter Kazaras directing and Stephen Karr conducting.
A shocking success ever since its Berlin premiere in 1928, Brecht and Weill's '3pennyopera' gets a new production with a decidedly L.A. twist. Come follow the exploits of antihero Macheath as he gets in and out of trouble with louche lowlife! Is he a rat, or merely trying to put together a deal? Come hear such classics as 'Mack the Knife' and 'Pirate Jenny,' performed in their original jazz band orchestrations. '3pennyopera' will be performed in English.
